yet another day

The weather is absolutely glorious tonight...wow I am in heaven right now. Just watching my mom and sibs running around with the 30+ chickens in the yard - I feel like such a farmer. It's adorbs because they have been selling the eggs and each have a jar that they divide the money into!!

I've been on a school break for the past two days
(which has been ssoooo nice!!) - just to slow down, relax, and catch up on some other stuff that needed done.

We also just bought this amazing Honda Civic which I am in love with, but stick shift is absolutely insane to master. However, after dying several times in the middle of massive intersections, I think that I'm beginning to grasp the craziness behind navigating from one place to another.

So today at work I did food prep for like...6-7 hours....craziness - I never thought that making salads and wraps could be so monotonous, but it's def a fun experience even if it is pretty long lol.

Gosh I'm so tired....cinnamon buns, a thick novel, and a steaming bath are sounding beyond incredible right now...

Amazed

This week has left me amazed.
Amazed at the wonderful friends I have.
Amazed at the incredible opportunity I have been given.
Amazed at the faithfulness of God throughout every circumstance.

I just returned home from the regional speech and debate tournament in Jacksonville, Florida.  Funny how it works sometimes, I thought I had decided that this was my last year of speech...this tournament made me want to do it all again.

Through it all, God showed me time and time again His faithfulness, even when I felt so sick and tired {those early mornings - 5am} and when had a sore throat {I know, at a speech competition}.  He gave me the strength I needed to share the message He wanted those people to hear.

Although I qualified to the National tournament {held in Boston, Massachusetts}, I won't be attending this year due to the fact that I'm ready to turn my attention to other things, but I've enjoyed every minute of the tournaments that I have been to this year.

The regional banquet this year was a "Day Glow" duct tape party which was a blast.

Looking forward to a wonderful summer!

Here I go

I've leaving again....heading to Jacksonville Florida (in like, five days) for another speech tournament.  Once this is over, my life sloooowwws down somewhat.  Please pray for all the preparations for this!!

So yesterday (Monday) was so relaxing and peaceful for me.  It was the first day that actually felt (somewhat) like summer!!  It.was.awesome!!

One of my favorite pics - I took it last Spring.

home again

So here I am.

Back from the beach.

Home in my wonderful house, wonderful room, wonderful bed.

Did I ever tell you how much I love spring break?

I had every intention to do an amazing photo shoot while at the beach - no kidding I actually packed some dresses, etc., but unfortunately, due to spring break, the beaches were so jam-packed with people that pictures weren't a great possibility...I mean, there's always photoshop, but who wants to spend hours in front of the computer photoshopping hundreds of people out of the background?  Yeah...you get the idea.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I want this blog to be...after I deleted my old blog {due to the fact that I NEVER posted}, I made the decision to attempt to post AT LEAST twice each month, hopefully more...we'll see.

If you have any thoughts - post them...I want to keep making this blog better and I'd love any feedback.

Thanks guys and hope your spring break was as relaxing as mine was haha!

Be Happy!

So...everyone have an incredible spring break!!

My 7 Reasons to Be Happy {in no particular order}
1. Spring break!!!
2. Going to the beach {on spring break}
3. My awesome family and friends
4. Chick-fil-A {I'm serious...I'm lovin' it!  no wait...it's been my pleasure!}
5. Yearbook is finished {took me 7 hours!!}
6. Music {what would I do without it?}
7. EVERYTHING! {I know, I know - but how can I not be happy about everything?}

Everyday holds something to be thankful for.

What about you?

The Awesome, the Bad, and the Weird

The Awesome:

1. I got a job at Chick-fil-A !!  (Please, if you come, don't order a combo meal with water - you will ruin my LIFE!)

2. Konos Formal !! (A-maz-ing night and so much fun!  The girls that organized it did such an incredible job - I loved it!) {Oh! And my dresss!!! ↓ Silver on the top and navy blue on the bottom).

The Bad:

1. Having to wake up at 6am on Saturday morning for Chick-fil-A training :P - my mom was happy though, haha - she thinks it's a good motivator for me to get up early.

2. Taking the SAT (AND FORGETTING MY CALCULATOR!!)  Actually, they had to bring it into me partway into the test orientation.  The Lady comes in the door and goes, "Is Emily Rutt present?" Sheepishly, I raised my hand and she handed me my calculator.  Turns out that my amazing dad had jumped in the car and come all the way from home so that I could take the test with a calculator - PRAISE THE LORD! I couldn't have made it through without it.

The Weird:

1. Driving down the road in Peachtree City the other day and seeing a stop sign ahead.  I stopped (of course) and I look over and there's this bedraggled woman standing next to the stop sign....just standing there with a faraway look in her eye.  Okay, it doesn't end there - she was holding this HUGE AXE!!!  No - I'm serious...I looked twice just to make sure.

------------------

Ever heard of zumba???  So we've been going every Monday morning - no joke it's really great exercise.  Seriously - I will admit that when I first walked into the room, I was skeptical, but hey, it's been lots of fun...go sign up for a class. now!

Spring break is approaching and I am SO happy (like you have no idea)....maybe {hopefully} we'll head over to the beach...we'll see.  If not - my spring break will most likely be spent polishing speeches for regionals which doesn't sound appealing right now :P.

I know - this post is like a million random thoughts smashed together with no flow at all - but that's better than no post at all...

Isn't it???
